EDMOND, Okla. - UAFS Assistant Vice Chancellor for Athletics-Recreation-Health-and Wellness
Curtis Janz will be inducted into the Oklahoma Christian University Athletics Hall of Fame as part of its 2025 class, the university announced last week.
Janz served as Oklahoma Christian's Athletic Director from January 2009 to July 2016, successfully spearheading OC's journey through the NCAA Division II membership process during his seven-year tenure. Janz spent more than 30 years at OC as a student, assistant coach and administrator, working 19 of those years as the men's basketball assistant
coach under head coach Dan Hays, during which he co-authored the textbook, "Basketball Skills Progressions."While on Hays' staff, Janz received the AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2003.
With Janz at the helm of the department, Oklahoma Christian added women's golf while beginning the process of adding men's and women's swimming through his relationship with current head coach Josh Davis. The Eagles saw six national titles and five straight top-10 national finishes across all sports in NAIA/NCCAA competition during his time as AD.
The induction ceremony will take place Friday, Nov. 7 beginning at 5 p.m. during Oklahoma Christian University's Homecoming weekend at the Alumni Banquet held inside the Meinders Conference Center.
