Volleyball to continue MIAA play at Missouri Southern, Central Missouri

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball will look to get back on track this weekend as the Lions visit Missouri Southern and Central Missouri to continue MIAA play.

The Lions will take on Missouri Southern at 6 p.m. Friday before visiting Central Missouri at 2 p.m. Saturday. Both matches will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS dropped both matches against its travel partner in No. 7 Central Oklahoma.

SEASON HIGH: The Lions hit .299 in the defeat at Central Oklahoma last week, their highest mark in MIAA play.

RECORD WATCH: Setter Scarlette Young ranks seventh all-time with 75 career service aces. Middle Crystal Smith has the sixth most solo blocks in a season with 31.

LEAGUE LEADER: Smith leads the MIAA with 116 total blocks and is second with 1.35 blocks per set.

SCOUTING MSSU: The Lions are 8-14, 2-8 MIAA while posting a 2-1 record at home this season. Outside hitter Alana Moesch leads the attack for the Lions with 3.41 kills per set.

SCOUTING UCM: The Jennies are 15-5, 7-3 MIAA and receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. UCM is third in the MIAA in digs with 17.17 per set as libero Grace Winkelmann ranked third in the league with 5.01 per set.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 7-1 all-time against Missouri Southern but just 1-4 versus Central Missouri.
