FORT SMITH, Ark. – Guard Baylee Fincher scored 17 points to lead University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball as the Lions fell, 80-58, to No. 10 Texas Woman's Saturday at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
Fincher finished 7-of-15 from the field and made a pair of threes to go with five rebounds and two assists.
Fincher got the scoring started for the Lions with a step back three, and then a three by guard Riley Hayes put the Lions up, 13-9, with 3:58 left in the opening quarter. However, the Pioneers ended the quarter on a 12-2 run to lead, 21-15.
Texas Woman's shot 60.0 percent in the second quarter as it took a 44-29 lead into halftime. UAFS outscored TWU in the fourth, 20-18.
Guard Zyniah Thomas chipped in with nine points and three assists, while guard Abby Summitt added eight points off the bench. Forwards Kayla Brundidge and Maja Cykowska had seven and six rebounds, respectively.
UAFS will look to get back in the win column Thursday at Texas A&M International.
