CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Tennis started the 2024 season off on the right foot with a 7-2 win at University of the Ozarks Tuesday.
The Lions went up 3-0 by sweeping doubles play, with Anis Ramchane and Killian Darneaux winning at No. 1, 8-3. At No. 2, Juan Rosello and Eduardo Bribiesca also won 8-3, while Juan Patino and Eddie Hunter claimed an 8-5 win at No. 3.
Rosello started doubles off with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2, then Ramchane sealed the win for the Lions with a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 3. Darneaux won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 and Hunter notched a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 to complete the match.
Juan Patino went the distance at No. 5, ultimately falling, 7-6, 5-7, 8-10.
Next up for the Lions is an exhibition at home against Seward County Community College on February 20 before resuming nonconference action Feb. 29 at Harding.
