FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball wraps up its third consecutive weekend at home this week as the Lions face Missouri Southern State and Central Missouri at the Stubblefield Center.
The all-Lion matchup will take place at 6 p.m. Friday followed by a 1 p.m. contest Saturday against the Jennies. Both matches will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS split home and away matches with its travel partner in No. 10 ranked Central Oklahoma.
BLOCK PARTY: The Lions lead the MIAA with 208.0 total blocks and 2.51 per set.
RECORD WATCH: Outside hitter Caelyn Gunn has climbed to seventh on the all-time kills list with 860 and is also seventh in digs with 879. Middle blocker Hannah Watkins is fourth in total blocks with 257.
SCOUTING MSSU: The Lions are 3-19, 1-9 MIAA on the year and have lost their last five matches. MSSU allows the second-highest opponent hitting percentage in the MIAA at .215. Libero Kyla Randall leads the MIAA with 5.92 digs per set.
SCOUTING UCM: The Jennies are 8-11, 4-6 MIAA after defeating Missouri Southern in their last outing. UCM allows the second-most blocks in the league and ranks second to last in digs. Setter Kayla Baer is third in the MIAA with 11.09 assists per set while outside hitter Maya Ferguson is fourth with 3.52 kills per set.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 6-0 all-time against Missouri Southern and 1-2 against Central Missouri after defeating both teams on the road earlier this season.
