UAFS closes out regular season at home versus Midwestern State, Texas Woman's

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball closes out the regular season this weekend at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center as the Lions host Midwestern State and Texas Woman's.

Friday sees the Lions host MSU at 5 p.m. as part of Military Appreciation Day with Saturday serving a senior day for five seniors prior to the 2 p.m. start against the Pioneers.

Both matches will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com. Radio broadcasts will be available on Fox Sports Radio 103.5 for Friday's match with Saturday's match airing on KOOL 104.7FM.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS went 1-2 on its final road trip of the season, dropping matches at UT Tyler and Angelo State before defeating UT Permian Basin.

SENIOR DAY: The five seniors being honored prior to Saturday's match are Taylor Lintz, Reagan Macha, Paola Fragalle, Lauren Weber and Angelina Hardison.

CLINCHED: With the win over UTPB the Lions clinched a spot in next week's LSC Tournament.

REGIONAL RANKINGS: UAFS was ranked 10th in this week's South Central regional rankings.

RECORD WATCH: Setter Chloe Price needs 28 assists to break the Division II era career assist record of 2,308, held by Whitney Hale. Price also ranks 10th with 804 digs. Right-side hitter Reagan Macha is fifth with 891 kills.

BLOCK PARTY: UAFS tallied a record 15 solo blocks in the match against UT Tyler last week. Middle blocker Hannah Watkins had seven total blocks in the match and ranks fifth nationally and leads the LSC with 122 total blocks.

KEEP IT UP: As they have for the majority of the season, the Lions lead the LSC with 18.92 digs per set, a mark that ranks fifth nationally. Libero Paola Fragalle is third in the LSC with 5.05 digs per set.

SCOUTING MSU: The Mustangs enter Friday's contest just 4-22, 1-13 LSC and on an eight-match losing streak. They allow the most kills per set in the league at 13.7 per set. Outside hitter Riley Rabedeaux leads MSU with 2.73 kills per set while libero Taygon Jones averages 4.31 digs per set.

SCOUTING TWU: The Pioneers are ranked seventh in the South Central regional rankings and are tied with UAFS at 18-7, 10-4 LSC. TWU has won four in a row behind five players averaging more than two kills per set while running a 6-2. TWU ranks third in the LSC with a .250 hitting percentage and second with 13.99 kills per set.

THE SERIES: The Lions are 6-2 against both Midwestern State and Texas Woman's all time.
