TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Cold shooting limited University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball to just 34.4 percent from the floor as the Lions suffered a 74-57 setback at Northeastern State Saturday.
UAFS connected on just one of 16 shot attempts as it fell behind 18-7 after the first 10 minutes of action. The Lions would outscore the Riverhawks 36-30 in the second half but were unable cut into the deficit.
Guard Morgan Browning led the Lions with 12 points, with guard Hannah Boyett adding nine and forward Kayla Brundidge eight. Guard Zyniah Thomas had seven points and seven rebounds.
Nonconference play continues for the Lions Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when they host Arkansas Tech at the Stubblefield Center.
