FORT SMITH, Ark. – Setter Chloe Price broke the program's career assist record as University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball picked up a 25-16, 25-14, 25-16 sweep over Midwestern State Friday at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
Price picked up her 2,309th career assist early in the third set and finished with 35 for the match as UAFS hit .289 for the match.
Freshman right-side hitter Sophia McIntyre impressed in her first career start, leading the team with 11 kills and hitting .647 without committing an error. Outside hitter Caelyn Gunn added 10 kills while Reagan Macha had nine kills.
UAFS never trailed in any set, which included starts of 7-0 in set two and 9-2 in set three.
The Lions hit .306 in set one and .350 in set two.
Defensively, libero Paola Fragalle had a team-high 18 digs while defensive specialist Taylor Lintz added 13. Price tallied 10 digs for a double-double.
UAFS had an 8-2 edge in aces, with four by defensive specialist Lauren Weber and three by Fragalle. UAFS doubled the Mustangs in blocks, 6-3.
The Lions wrap up the regular season Saturday at 2 p.m. against Texas Woman's with a senior day presentation prior to the match.
