FORT SMITH, Ark. – Dallas Baptist hit .318 to just .149 for University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball as the Patriots spoiled the Pink Out Game for UAFS by sweeping the Lions, 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.

UAFS led early in set one before the Patriots scored five unanswered points for a 9-5 advantage. The Lions were unable to get closer than three points the rest of the set.

A back-and-forth start to the second set saw the Lions take a 10-9 lead but a 6-0 DBU run put the Lions in a deficit they were unable to make up.

Set three was tied at 15-15 after the Lions used a 4-0 run with kills by setter Chloe Alderson and middle blocker Hannah Watkins. However, DBU responded with a 5-0 burst for a 20-15 lead. UAFS made one last push but was unable to extend the match.

Outside hitter Caelyn Gunn and middle blocker Angelina Hardison each had seven kills with Hardison hitting .412 and Gunn collecting 10 digs.

Setter Chloe Price had nine assists and 12 digs while libero Lauren Weber had nine digs. Alderson dished out a team-high 11 assists. At the net, middle blocker Hannah Holland had three blocks, two of the solo variety.

UAFS had an 8-4 edge in aces, with two apiece from Gunn, Price and outside hitter Paola Fragalle.

The Lions next visit St. Edward's Friday at 6 p.m.
