ODESSA, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Tennis fell 5-2 at UT Permian Basin Saturday to close the regular season, finishing with a 5-8, 1-6 LSC record.
In doubles, Andrew Anderson and Ethan Eddleman claimed a 6-4 win at number two, but it wasn't enough for the Lions to earn the doubles point.
Wian Van Dyk bounced back with his first conference win of the year at number one singles, taking down his opponent 6-4, 6-1.
At number five singles, Zach Delmonico completed a 2-0 weekend in singles play with a thrilling three-set win. He won set one, 7-6, before falling in set two, 1-6. In a back-and-fort third set, he won 13-11.
Eddleman had a pair of close sets at number four, but was defeated in both sets, 5-7, 5-7.
Postseason play is up next for the Lions, as they will take part in the Lone Star Conference Tournament April 29-May 1 at the Waco Regional Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
