It wasn't easy for the Lady Lions (10-2), as they dropped the first set and saw an 11-2 lead turn into a 15-15 tie in set two.
But UAFS continued to battle, using a 5-2 run to break that tie and hang on for the set win. Things started to turn around in set three, as UAFS hit .353 to .000 for Cameron for a 25-16 win.
In the third, UAFS used a 7-0 run to pull ahead after trailing 10-9. The Lady Lions also used a 5-1 run late in the set to take a 2-1 lead.
Set four featured a pair of momentum swings, with UAFS jumping out to a 6-0 lead only for Cameron to answer with a 6-0 run of its own. The Aggies would eventually take a 10-8 lead, holding the lead until a 7-2 run by the Lady Lions gave them a 23-19 advantage.
UAFS would secure the match with a kill by sophomore right-side hitter Courtney Crownover followed by an error by the Aggies.
Both Crownover and freshman outside hitter Reagan Macha recorded double-doubles, with Crownper dishing out 27 assists and tallying 13 digs. Macha led the team in both kills and digs, with 15 and 18, respectively.
