FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Volleyball returns to Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center this weekend, hosting Western New Mexico Friday and UT Permian Basin Saturday.

First serve for Friday's match is 6 p.m. with a first serve Saturday at 1 p.m.

Both matches will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with Friday's match also being broadcast on KHGG-FM 103.5 and Saturday's match on KFPW-AM 1230. Live stats for both matches will be available on uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS went 0-3 last week, dropping a pair of road conference matches before falling in a nonconference tilt at Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday.

FIRST START: Freshman setter Chloe Alderson received her first career start Tuesday at Oklahoma Baptist and delivered a double-double with 45 assists and 10 digs.

AT THE NET: The Lady Lions rank third in the LSC with 2.22 blocks per set. They lead the league with 129 total blocks. Middle blocker Chrya Thompson is second in the LSC at 0.98 blocks per set and has 55 total blocks.

KEEPING IT 100: UAFS is second in the LSC with 1.72 aces per set and leads the league with an even 100 aces on the year.

.149: UAFS is just 1-9 when allowing it's opponents to hit .149 or better. UAFS is 5-0 when holding it's opponents below that number. They have held the opponent to less than a .100 hitting percentage in four of those five wins.

RECORD WATCH: Libero Lexy Lewis currently sits 8th on the all-time UAFS digs list with 853 career digs. She is two digs behind Bailey Katzfey for 7th and nine behind Autumn Reese for 6th.

THE SERIES: UAFS leads the all-time series with the Mustangs, 2-1, after winning in four sets in 2019. UAFS is 16-0 all-time against the Falcons, most recently defeating the Falcons in five sets in the 2020-21 LSC Tournament.

SCOUTING WNMU: The Mustangs enter the weekend 2-12, 1-4 LSC and rank in the bottom half of numerous statistical categories. Outside hitter Bria Augustine leads WNMU both offensively and defensively with 2.73 kills per set and 3.00 digs per set.

SCOUTING UTPB: The Falcons are sixth in the LSC standings at 9-4, 4-1 LSC and have won three in a row and five of six. They are led by one of the top setters in the league in Analise Lucio, who is fifth in the league with 9.06 assists per set. Outside hitter Aquincia Strambler leads the offense with with 3.65 kills per set while libero Daylee Doggett averages 4.77 digs per set for the UTPB back row.
