Upset! That is the word that would appropriately describe Lady Lions' win against a heavy favorite no. 4/6 A&M-Commerce. However, coach Cummings' players have proven in the last several games that they can fight against the best in the nation. UAFS has defeated A&M-Commerce by the score of 85-84 and gave them only second loss of the season. Lady Lions showed an extreme amount of energy in this game, led by their seniors Tamera Gulley with 12 points, four rebounds and six blocks and Alexsis Brown with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. 

Lady Lions led most of the game but A&M-C never gave up. Every attempt at taking the lead over was met with the resilient defense and disciplined offense from the Lady Lions. 

At the score 84-82, senior Alexsis Brown played a pick-and-pop with Leiloni Culley who made a go-ahead three pointer for the Lady Lions giving them an 85-84 lead. With only few seconds left, Tamera Gulley blocked A&M-C's final attempt at winning the game, giving the Lady Lions a huge senior night and homecoming win.

Lady Lions thus finish the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and 11-11 in conference play and are now preparing for the Lone Star Conference tournament as they travel to Austin, Texas to take on #7 St. Edward's.

In this game Lady Lions scored 85 points on 49.2 percent shooting from the field, 53.8 percent from the three point line and 69.2 percent from the charity stripe. UAFS was led in scoring by Hannah Boyett (16) and Alexsis Brown (15) while Ashanti Eden, Dachelle Terry and Gulley added 12 points each. Overall there were six Lady Lions scoring in double-digits in this game. As a team, Lady Lions scored 36 points in the paint while the bench contributed 26 points for the game. UAFS also distributed 15 assists, and were led in this category by Brown (6). 

Defensively, the Lady Lions allowed their opponent 85 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 77.8 percent from the free throw line. As a team UAFS grabbed 36 rebounds and were led by Mar'Shalia Lollie (11) and Alexsis Brown (6) while Gulley and Terry added four rebounds. The Lady Lions forced13 turnovers and scored 11 points off those while also recording six steals, led by Terry (3).
