The UAFS women's basketball team is coming off of a successful game last weekend against Midwestern State, winning 80-60. They are now looking to extend their winning streak against the Lady Eagles this upcoming weekend. They will be hosting Oklahoma Christian at 2pm on Saturday, February 1st at the Stubblefield Center.
The Lady Lions are going into this weekend with an overall record of 9-10 and 6-7 in conference play. Historically, the Lady Lions are currently 10-4 against the Lady Eagles in the all-time series and wll be looking to increase the lead on Saturday. The last time these two teams met up, Oklahoma Christian beat UAFS with a score of 63-74, so the Lady Lions will also be looking to comeback from that loss as well.
Currently, the Lady Lions are averaging 60.8 points per game while shooting 38.9 percent from the field, 27.5 percent from the 3-point line, and 69.8 percent at the free throw line.
Mar'Shalia Lollie is leading in this category with an average of 9.9 points per game. Defensively, UAFS is allowing 66.5 points per game from their opponents, with 40.6 percent shooting from the field, 22.7 percent from behind the arc, and 66.6 percent from the free throw line. As a team, the Lady Lions are grabbing 37.3 rebounds per game, led by
Tamera Gulley (7.9 rpg) and
Mar'Shalia Lollie (7.1 rpg). The Lady Lions are forcing 22.3 turnovers per game while also bringing in 8.6 steals per game.
