Lady Lions To Host Aggies In The First Game Of The Conference Homestand

UAFS women's basketball team will host a two-game conference homestand as the Lady Lions are getting ready to take on Cameron and Midwestern State. The first game against Cameron tips off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday while the second game tips off at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The second game of the weekend against Midwestern State is also a featured "Purple Game" highlighting Alzheimer's and Dementia awareness and prevention. UAFS is currently 8-9 overall on the season and 5-6 in conference play and is currently tied for 10th place in Lone Star Conference standings. 

The Lady Lions are currently averaging 59.2 points per game while shooting 38.5 percent from the field, 26.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 69.8 percent from the free throw line. UAFS is currently led in scoring by Mar'Shalia Lollie with 9.9 points per game, followed by Hannah Boyett and Ashanti Eden with 7.9 points per game each. As a team, the Lady Lions are averaging 10.8 assists per game, led by Paige Elston (3.2 apg.) and Alexsis Brown (2.6 apg.). 

Defensively the Lady Lions are currently allowing 66.5 points per game on 40.6 percent shooting from the field, 28.8 percent from the three point line and 67.1 percent from the free throw line. UAFS is currently outrebounding their opponents with 37.7 rebounds per game, led by Tamera Gulley (8.1 rpg.) and Lollie (7.4 rpg.). The Lady Lions are forcing 18.8 turnovers per game and recording 8.6 steals per game, led by Elston (1.7 spg.).
