UAFS women's basketball team has a challenging week ahead of them as the Lady Lions (7-8, 4-5) travel to Texas to take on no. 6 and undefeated A&M-Commerce (15-0, 9-0) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and on UT Tyler (3-10, 1-8) at 2 p.m. on Saturday of this week. The Lady Lions are coming off a 1-1 weekend homestand and will be looking to have a productive weekend in Texas. In terms of the Lady Lions' opponents, A&M-Commerce is still undefeated while UT Tyler recorded their first conference win past weekend against Texas A&M International.
A&M-Commerce is 15-0 overall this season and ranked no. 6 in the nation. The Lions are led by Chania Wright with 14.1 points per game and 1.7 assists per game while Alexis Bryant is adding 11.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Lady Lions have never met with A&M-Commerce before so this will be the first all-time matchup between the two teams. On the other hand, UT Tyler is 3-10 overall on the season and have won their first conference game past weekend against TAMIU and are now 1-8 in the conference play.
