UAFS women's basketball team has a challenging week ahead of them as the Lady Lions (7-8, 4-5) travel to Texas to take on no. 6 and undefeated A&M-Commerce (15-0, 9-0) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and on UT Tyler (3-10, 1-8) at 2 p.m. on Saturday of this week. The Lady Lions are coming off a 1-1 weekend homestand and will be looking to have a productive weekend in Texas. In terms of the Lady Lions' opponents, A&M-Commerce is still undefeated while UT Tyler recorded their first conference win past weekend against Texas A&M International.

A&M-Commerce is 15-0 overall this season and ranked no. 6 in the nation. The Lions are led by Chania Wright with 14.1 points per game and 1.7 assists per game while Alexis Bryant is adding 11.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Lady Lions have never met with A&M-Commerce before so this will be the first all-time matchup between the two teams. On the other hand, UT Tyler is 3-10 overall on the season and have won their first conference game past weekend against TAMIU and are now 1-8 in the conference play. The Patriots are led by Kelsey Crouse with 10.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Crouse is the only Patriots player averaging double-digits in scoring. This will be the first time that the Lady Lions play against UT Tyler, and they will be looking to start the all-time series with a win. 

Offensively, the Lady Lions are currently scoring 59.4 points per game while shooting .388 percent from the field, .277 percent from the three point line and .698 percent from the free throw line. They are led in scoring by Mar'Shalia Lollie (10 ppg.) and Paige Elston (9.5 ppg.) while Hannah Boyett is adding 8.2 points per game. UAFS is also passing 11 assists per game, led by Elston (3.5 apg.) and Alexsis Brown (2.7 apg.). 

Defensively, the Lady Lions are allowing 65.9 points per game, while their opponents shoot .406 percent from the field, .280 percent from the three point line and .661 percent from the charity stripe. The Lady Lions are outrebounding their opponents at 36.8 rebounds per game, led by Tamera Gulley (7.5 rpg.) and Lollie (7.3 rpg.). They are also recording 9.1 steals per game, led by Elston with 1.8 steals per game.
