UAFS sophomore
Samantha Wong has been named Heartland Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance during last week's Lady Lions' matches.
Wong, who is from Grapevine, Texas, went undefeated while playing No. 5 singles (2-0) and No. 1 doubles (2-0) last week as the Lions split their matches against John Brown and Newman.
Wong beat JBU's Katie Sandeno 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and teamed up with
Bianca Koen to beat Sydney Smith and Julia McNeil 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Wong beat Newman's Mariana Gaviria 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and she and Koen beat Liza Gerasimova and Vlada Litvinova 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
This is Wong's second weekly conference honor this season.
