The UAFS men's tennis team ended its five-match home stand on Thursday afternoon with a 5-1 loss to the Newman Jets in Heartland Conference play at Fort Smith Athletic Club.
UAFS (2-6, 1-1) finished 2-3 during its home stand and will return to action on Tuesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. against William Jewell in Joplin, Mo.
The Lions picked up a win at No. 2 doubles where
Brady Kenyon and
Luke Anderson beat Blake Crawford and Ian Clifton 6-3. Newman (5-8, 1-0) won the remaining two doubles matches to secure the doubles point and won four of the six singles matches.
Wian Van Dyk earned the Lions' only recordable win, beating Crawford 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 2 singles.
