The UAFS men's tennis team began its two-match home stand with a tough 7-0 nonconference loss to the Oklahoma Baptist Bison on Tuesday afternoon at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
UAFS (0-4) will resume its home stand at 1 p.m. on Friday when it begins Heartland Conference play against Dallas Baptist at the Fort Smith Athletic Club. UAFS was scheduled to play the Harding Bison at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Searcy, Ark., but that match has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at Searcy.
UAFS trailed 1-0 after doubles play, but the Lions had two opportunities to pick up wins in singles play.
Sophomore
Wian Van Dyk took Gianlucca Galdi to a third-set tiebreaker in the No. 2 singles match but retired because of injury on set point, giving Galdi a 4-6, 7-6, 10-10 win. Sophomore
Andrew Anderson also took his opponent, Nick Parker, to a third-set tiebreaker before losing 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.
