UAFS Cross Country teams are competing in the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country South Central Regional Championships on Saturday at The Range in Canyon, Texas. The women's race starts at 9:30am and followed by the men's race at 10:45 a.m.
So far this season, the Lions were led by
Will Phillips who placed 94th and 15th at the final two regular season races at Chile Pepper Festival and OBU Invitational respectively. Phillips also led the Lions during the Lone Star Conference Championship where he recorded a 27:27.60 which placed him 47th. Meanwhile, the Lady Lions were led by
Kandace Young who placed 48th at Chile Pepper and 6th at OBU Invitational. Individual stats are available for both
Men's and
Women's Cross Country team. Young was the highest placed UAFS Women's XC runner during the LSC meet as she ran 25:31.19 and placed 59th.
Both teams will be looking to build on the entire season-worth of hard work and finish the season off strong.
