UAFS Women's Basketball team is set for the season-opener as the Lady Lions compete in Conference Challenge at Recreation and Convocation Center in Austin, Texas hosted by St. Edward's.
UAFS will play Colorado School of Mines at 12 p.m. on Friday in the opening game of the Conference Challenge between Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This two-day, four-team event will also feature St. Edward's and Colorado Christian. The Lady Lions will play against Colorado Christian at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Second-year coach Tari Cumings is returning four key players of which senior forward
Tamera Gulley averaged 9.1 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game and senior guard
Alexsis Brown averaged 7.6 points and 3.1 assists per game during the 2018-19 campaign. The Lady Lions are looking to make an early statement in their regular-season opener against Colorado School of Mines.
As a reminder, the Lady Lions are picked to finish 11th in the 2019-2020 Lone Star Conference competition according to the annual preseason poll by coaches, sports information directors and local media representatives.
