Senior guard
Daijah Brown scored a career-high 21 points on Wednesday afternoon to lead the UAFS women's basketball team in its hard-fought 81-69 nonconference loss to the Tarleton State TexAnns at Wisdom Gym in Stephenville, Texas.
It was the first of two final first-semester games for the Lady Lions (3-9), who will host Harding at 2 p.m. on New Year's Eve at the Stubblefield Center.

Alexsis Brown had 11 points, and senior forward
Ellie Lehne had 10 points. UAFS shot 42 percent from the field (30 of 72) – it was only 2-of-14 shooting from 3-point range – and shot just 58 percent from the free-throw line (7 of 12).'
UAFS out-rebounded Tarleton State by 13 rebounds (46-33), grabbing 21 offensive rebounds that led to 17 second-chance points. Junior forward

Mariah Green each had a team-high eight rebounds.
Daijah Brown also had a team-high six steals and four assists.
The Lady Lions did commit 19 turnovers that led to 20 points for the TexAnns, who led 35-24 at halftime.
Tarleton State (8-2) shot 49 percent from the field (30 of 61) – it was 4-of-17 shooting from 3-point range – and shot 63 percent from the free-throw line (17 of 27).
Forward Mackenzie Hailey scored a team-high 19 points, while guard Kaylee Allen had 18 points, guard McKinley Bostad had 14 points and guard Kylie Collins had 12 points.
Hailey just missed a double-double, finishing with nine rebounds.
