OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith men’s and women’s golf teams posted Top 5 finishes in the Heartland Conference Tournament on Tuesday afternoon to finish their first regular season as members of NCAA Division II.

UA Fort Smith is a provisional member of Division II and but still competed in the conference tournament.

The Lions shot a 16-over par 880 and finished fifth in the nine-team field. St. Edward’s University won the two-day, three-round event with a 20-under par 844.

Sophomore Matt McKown and junior Ethan Adamson each shot a 1-over par 217 and finished tied for 11^th to lead the Lions. Junior Will Fogleman shot a 3-over par 219 and finished tied for 16^th, sophomore Patrick Willey shot a 15-over par 231 and finished 30^th and junior Taylor Owens shot a 23-over par 239 and finished 34^th.

The Lady Lions shot a 63-over par 639 and finished fifth in the nine-team field. St. Edward’s University won the two-round, two-day event with a 16-over par 592.

Junior Lacy Martin shot a 10-over par 154 and finished 10^th to lead the Lady Lions. Junior Johannah Hendrex shot a 14-over par 158 and finished tied for 11^th, sophomore Sidney Tallon shot a 17-over par 161 and finished tied for 20^th, freshman Jami Hendrix shot a 22-over par 166 and finished tied for 25^th and junior Jena Morrow shot a 30-over par 174 and finished 32^nd.
