UAFS senior middle hitter Jessica Anderson has been named Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week for her performance during last week’s sweeps of Texas A&M International and St. Mary’s.

Anderson, who is from Columbus, Kan., averaged 4.5 kills and 0.67 blocks per set and compiled a gaudy .490 hitting percentage. She dominated against Texas A&M International, collecting 18 kills and 2 blocks while compiling a career-high 0.720 hitting percentage.
           
UAFS clinched the outright regular-season conference title with its win against Texas A&M International and topped off its 15-1 conference record with its win against St. Mary’s in the regular-season finale.
           
The Lady Lions (23-4) will be the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, which they will host on Friday-Saturday at the Stubblefield Center. UAFS will play No. 4 seed St. Mary’s at 5 p.m. on Friday. The championship match will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
