Senior outside hitter Michelle Walker was named Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week for her performances during the Lady Lions' sweeps of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and second-place Lubbock Christian.

It was the fifth time this season for Walker, who is from Sugarland, Texas, to earn the honor.

She averaged 4.67 kills, 1.5 blocks and 1.33 digs per set during sweeps of UTPB and second-place Lubbock Christian. She also compiled an impressive 0.436 hitting percentage, committing only 4 errors in 55 hitting attempts.
