UAFS junior outside hitter Anna Demmer led the team in kills (47) and kills per set (3.92) and tied for the team lead in total blocks (seven) and blocks per set (0.58) during the season-opening Kathleen Brasfield Invitational in San Angelo, Texas.

The Lady Lions (3-1) began the invitational with three-consecutive sweeps of East Central, Texas A&M-Kingsville and New Mexico Highlands before losing to host Angelo State in three sets.
