Elder has been named the Heartland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance during the UAFS Lions’ 90-84 nonconference win against the University of Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.

Elder scored 21 points and had seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in the win. He was 6-of-10 shooting from the field – he was 2-of-3 shooting from 3-point range – and 7-of-9 shooting from the free-throw line.

The Antioch, Tenn., native helped the Lions continue their perfect start to the season as UAFS now stands at 13-0.
