Will Phillips made an immediate impact for the UAFS men's cross country team as a freshman last season, leading the Lions contingent at each of its five meets.
Saturday, the Mount Pleasant, Texas, native picked up where he left off last season, leading the Lions to an impressive third-place finish in the University of Central
Arkansas Cross Country Challenge 5k at Beaverfork Lake in Conway, Ark.
Phillips covered the 5k course in a time of 15:18.6 and finished 12th overall.
