UAFS senior guard
Alex Cooper has made quite a name for himself for his offensive skills, particularly his pinpoint passes that have ignited the Lions' up-tempo offense for four seasons.
His defensive skills aren't too shabby either.
The Dallas, Texas, native had two steals during UAFS' 49-46 Heartland Conference win at Rogers State on Saturday to become the Lion's all-time steals leader during the school's NCAA Division II era.
Cooper only needed one steal against the Hillcats to reach the milestone.
He collected two steals during the Lions' 102-73 nonconference win against the Bacone College Warriors on Tuesday night at the Stubblefield Center to tie the school record of 120 career steals set by former Lions guard Jalynn Mitchell during the 2009-13 seasons.
Cooper didn't waste much time setting the record against the Hillcats, stealing the ball from Rogers State guard JD Tisdale with 7:39 left in the first half.
It's the second career milestone for Cooper this week. Cooper dished out 10 assists during the Lions' 102-73 nonconference win against the Bacone College Warriors on Tuesday night at the Stubblefield Center, becoming the Heartland Conference's all-time assists leader in the process.
Cooper, who is the Lions' all-time assists leader and holds the school record for assists in a game (14), surpassed the previous record of 460 set by former St. Mary's Rattler Dominique Richardson during the 2005-2008 seasons.
