Sophomore Chris Eckes shot a 6-over par 146 to lead the UAFS men's golf team to a seventh place finish in the Lions Classic on Tuesday at Fort Smith's Hardscrabble Country Club.

UAFS shot a 46-over 606 (309-297) on its home course and finished 47 strokes behind event winner Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City shot a sizzling 1-under 559 (272-287) to win the nine-team classic by 16 strokes over runner-up Oklahoma Wesleyan, which shot a 15-over 575 (287-288).

Eckes shot rounds of 76-70 and finished tied for 11th.
