Anne Stiles shot a 14-over par 158 to lead the UAFS women's golf team to a 10
th place finish in the Midwestern State Invitational on Tuesday at Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas.
UAFS shot a 74-over 650 (317-333) over the two-round, two-day event, finishing 35 strokes behind Dallas Baptist, Arkansas Tech and host Midwestern State, which each shot a 39-over 315. Dallas Baptist (303-312) won the tiebreaker with Arkansas Tech (299-316) finishing second and Midwestern State (299-316) third.
The Lady Lions were one of seven Heartland Conference teams competing in the 18-team invitational and finished fifth among the league teams – Dallas Baptist, St. Mary's (fourth), Newman (fifth), Rogers State (sixth), UAFS (10
th), Texas A&M International (17
th) and Oklahoma Panhandle State (18
th).
Stiles shot rounds of 77-81 and finished tied for 24
th among the 93-golfer field.
