Freshman cross country runner Jessica Salas led the two-runner Lady Lions contingent on Saturday at the program's first-ever NCAA Division II South Central Meet at The Range in Canyon, Texas.

Salas, who is from Springdale, Ark., ran the 6k course in a time of 23:53.70 and finished 92nd in the 165-runner event hosted by West Texas A&M.

It was her second-best 6k time of the season. Salas posted a 23:45.1 time in the 6k Heartland Conference Meet.
