Hayden Harvey has been named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance this past weekend during a 3-0 win against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
Harvey, who is from Greenwood, Ark., became just the third UAFS pitcher to toss a no-hitter during the program's NCAA Division II era, shutting out the Aggies for a complete-game 3-0 win at Crowder Field on Saturday.
The right-hander faced only 23 batters – just two more than the minimum – in pitching his team-leading third complete game this season. Harvey (3-3) walked three and struck out 11 OPSU batters.
It was the Lions' first no-hitter since former Lions pitcher Devin Hampton tossed a 2-0 shutout of the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs in 2015.
